I saw “The Art of Death” all over twitter and I couldn’t wait to read it. It was one of my most anticipated books of 2021 and I had really high expectations.

I loved the Sleeper series and I was curious what Davy comes up with in a serial killer novel.

Police received a call from a person responsible for the London’s exhibition. They reports that the exhibits are disgusting and need to be removed immediately. They cannot be shown to the public.

It’s the first day of Grace Archer’s job as a DI (and it’s a job she took after a police officer whom she arrested) and she’s taken to the scene. Not suspecting that she’s about to see three murder victims exposed to everyone who’s passing by (including victim’s partner)!

Within hours from three bodies we have five, and then the number keeps growing. The serial killer is on the loose and it seems that there are no solid leads!

What’s even worse, they consider themselves an artist. Not a psychopath, of course. Not only the bodies are left in different places in London, the murders are filmed and shared in the web, but also some of them are streaming live. That gave me creeps!

The clock is ticking, and the victims are being chosen based on their presence in the internet. Yep, you’re going to re-think what you put on social media and your next swipe on tinder!

The story seems to have a moderate pace and it is full of the tiny details for us to catch. I loved how diverse and inclusive the characters are! The action takes place in the part of London which I know very well (as it’s close to my favourite bookstore and I often wondered around there).

Were my expectations met? Absolutely.

This book has everything that you need from a serial killer story. I’ve read it on one go, so if you’re about to start - make yourself comfortable.
