Wow – this book does not disappoint and if this is David Fennel’s first book then it is certainly one heck of a debut. This book hooks you from the get go and doesn’t let go until it spits you out the other end desperately wanting more. It has everything a reader could ask for – a decent build up to the main characters, plenty of drama, action, mystery and plot twists to throw the reader off course until the very last page. I was worried this was going to be predictable and same-old, same-old but it is surprisingly modern, fresh, inventive and unpredictable. It really captured me. I liked how it was short sharp glimpses into the characters past and then punchy kicks of action and then the complete picture is only fully laid out at the end. It is paced really well and you will find it very hard to put this down. I will definitely be on the look out for more.
