If I saw this front cover in a bookshop, I wouldn't pick this book, it doesn't strike me as imaginative or different.
But I loved the story, it gripped me from the start! A therapist who silently rants at her client, and thinks that her client's problems are not serious compared to her own - everyone's worst nightmare of a therapist! But immediately I want to know more - what is so bad about this woman's life or background? Why did she become a therapist?
When her estranged sister calls to say that their father has been shot, it's clear that she's going to be travelling back to her home town, and all will be revealed. I can't wait to find out more!
