Whilst I really enjoy the writing style of this book, I don't think it's my kind of story since it is set in the past. However, I found the first line both intriguing and hilarious and loved the fact that although this book is set in the past, it has a brilliant, strong heroine. If I were to read this, I would probably enjoy it a lot (as I have enjoyed every book I have ever read, bar two) and it seems like it would be an inspiring, empowering read (amazing heroine, remember?) over the six-week summer holidays.
