This book was so thick that I was definitely intimidated by it when I first picked it up oof. Also the fact it was set in revolutionary France and I've read a lot of that recently...I really wasnt sure if I'd like it.

But in between there's a lot of short chapters and a lot of action. It very much feels like an adventure film like Indiana Jones but set during the French revolution with a female main character and I liked that.

The romance I wasn't sure about. And it didn't feel like Attica was either. Maybe that's the point but it kind of felt like it was trying to be included but was barely there.

Still, I liked Attica's relationship with her cousin, I liked that she was bi and I appreciated all the adventure and gadgets. I was a little unsure going into it but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I have the second book at the ready and am looking forward to seeing where the story goes because the ending was not what I expected.
