The Bastille Spy is the first novel in CS Quinn’s Revolution Spy series and is a fun historical romp, set at the outbreak of the French Revolution and the fall of the Bastille.
The series follows Attica Morgan as she attempts to uncover the truth about what happened to a murdered revolutionary. Attica is a wonderful protagonist, she’s fun and smart, clever and inventive, warm and sympathetic to the cause.
There are some great supporting characters, Jemmy is a particular favourite. It’s really hard not to root for him and Attica.
The story is fast paced with some well written action sequences. With short chapters this book is a very quick read and worth a look at if you’re a fan of historical mysteries.
