Wow, this was a truly amazing read. The story was captivating and I could barely put the book down. I loved the time period of the French Revolution and how greatly it was influenced by the true events of it. The book gave me a lot of Assassin's Creed and Throne of Glass vibes, so if you're a fan of either one you'll definitely enjoy this one. I loved Attica's character as well as Jemmy who was witty and charming. Even though she had him at her side for a good chunk of the story, at no point was she a damsel in distress. She proved to everyone that women shouldn't be underestimated and are not just marriage material. This trope of women exceeding society's expectations has a similar feel to Stalking Jack the Ripper. Everyone should give this book a chance, it was an incredible read and I'm so glad that it's not a standalone book. I cannot wait for the sequel! It deserves all the stars!
