This book is beautifully written. The scene setting is perfect and the writing so intricate that it captures you right into the world of the book. I think this also reflects the focus of beauty in the book. How beauty can be enthralling and intriguing not just in a positive way but can also be dark and foreboding. Much like the sense of danger that the main protagonist Natasha has. After spotting blue lights up on the ridge the summer she turns 15, and finding out her best friend has seen them too she sets out to find out what they are. Natasha describes this summer as the summer that changed everything and I’m interested to know why this was and what the blue, mysterious lights have to do with this.
