The start of this book is interesting. I felt perhaps like it was a bit too wordy, so it took me a bit of time to get into the flow. I sense that the more you read of it, the easier it would be to do so. There is definitely a level of intrigue as the plot shows that something is going to happen during this summer which changes the characters life and causes people to talk about her.
