This sounds like something completely different to a lot of books out there right now, as such it's completely drawn me in. What exactly can this you do girl do that no one else can ? How does it change their lives ? Often people fear what they don't understand, is that what happens here ? Are the lights a natural thing, or is it a real portent of doom ? Is the lodger a potential love interest for both mother or daughter, or is it something more dark and evil ? This blurb leaves you with so many questions that need answering, I need to read the book and find out what it's all about.
