Amazing story, dreamlike quality

This book was so so good, it was very reminiscent of Atonement or I Capture the Castle. This was a perfect summery read, I loved the writing style of the author from the point of view of Natasha. I thought her character was mysterious yet very relatable. The story was intriguing and dark, underneath the appearance of a innocent and hazy summer. I thought Ms Donohue captured the essence of a heavy, hot summer extremely well and her writing style is lyrical and poetic, I got really immersed in her writing which is exactly what I want in a book! I was surprised at how long I spent reading it! Overall, without spoiling anything, I loved the suspense and intrigue throughout the book, it was dark and heavy whilst also being lyrical and poetic. I would not hesitate to recommend this book, and I would definitely be reading more books by this author!
