As soon as I saw the synopsis I knew this was a book for me to sink my teeth into and with its pessimistic yet dark humor, I knew my teeth would be stuck for a while; that first line really shone to me and is a perfect example of what I previously said.
There is just something delicious about a rivalry between mother and daughter, especially for the affections of a male, add a missing person into the mix and the plot thickens!

I like the decision to do a first-person past tense recount, it makes the story seem real, personal, and as if the female lead is sitting in a rocking chair reminiscing about her youthful days. The writing style makes me feel intelligent and well-read, it has a few tricky words sprinkled here and there, but nothing you can not understand the gist of if you were not to sought out the definition.

The book somehow reminds me of Vladmirs' Lolita or the Beguiled .

Overall, I am excited for this one.
