This book is a difficult one for me to review.
Natasha, just turned fifteen, lives with her mum in a small seaside town. Natasha is a gifted child who can foresee the future in her dreams but her mum tells her people shouldn't know about her gift, people don't want to know what their future holds. One summer, blue lights appear at the top of the ridge, Natasha believes this to be a warning of the end of the world and feels compelled to tell everyone in town to beware.
I will admit, there is not a lot happening in this book but it is so beautifully written, I couldn't put it down. Natasha tells us the story through talking to her therapist many years later which allows the tension to build as we know whats going to happen, we just don't know when or how. This is a great piece of writing, I could imagine this small town in my head and the confusion and excitement from the characters.
I thoroughly enjoyed escaping into this book over the weekend.
