Having enjoyed the opening chapters on Readers First, I was pleased to receive a copy so that I could continue reading about Natasha, her mum and her seaside town.

The story is set in Ireland, and Natasha is reflecting on the events of the summer 30 years ago. We quickly learn that her mum is young, beautiful and cash poor despite living in a large house. Her dad left when she was tiny. She has a friend, Marcus, who lost his dad at sea, as did Lewis who lives nearby.

We have hints that Natasha may have the ability to predict future events, or at least can sense when a tragedy is about to happen - including the loss of the fishing boat. We also hear about how strange lights are seen in the ridge area - aliens, natural occurrence or a warning?

Natasha is on the cusp of becoming a woman, will she decide that Marcus is more than a friend or is she too late?

The story is beautifully written, I felt as if I was transported to the hot seaside town, observing the events. However I did feel slightly underwhelmed by the ending of the story.
