Wow! The narrators descriptions are so comforting almost like I'm under a fort made of blankets and pillows. The description of the narrators mother, especially, pulls you into a maternal nostalgia and bliss. Only a small portion of the book was read, but already I feel an attachment. It's very easy to read, but not like a wow-this-is-for-kids-and-its-super-boring easy read, more like a i-cant-believe-that-this-is-an-accesible-yet-interesting-writing-style easy read. The latent tone of tragedy really hits the nail on the head and evokes an emotional response of sympathy, however, this makes the book all the more beautiful. Donhue's simple intricacies in her writing build this empire of intrigue and delight. The title itself, 'The Beauty of Impossible Things' truly does reel you into the story. I'm super excited to find out the rest!
