Thank you to Readers First for my advanced copy of this book. I was looking forward to this read with anticipation especially as I'd read some other reviews which were very complimentary. However, it quickly became apparent that I was not engaging with the novel as I had hoped to. I'm now just over halfway through and I'm afraid to say, that for me, I've found it a very slow-paced read which has failed to grab my attention. It has consisted of interaction between various characters and the protagonist having seen mysterious lights which she believes to foretell unpleasant happenings. Whilst some readers might enjoy the slow burn of the novel I have found it difficult to keep up the momentum. The anticipation of some action to draw me in has sadly not happened and I think that by this point in the novel I would have expected it to by now. Therefore, not one which I can, unfortunately, recommend.
