I was drawn to The Beauty of Impossible Things by the absolutely gorgeous cover - a simple design which gives a little hint but nothing too concrete about the story within. I liked the writing style and thought the chapter length was really well structured. Natasha and her mother had a really interesting lifestyle which lent itself well to writing a story around. The contrast between their personality types comes across well. Rachel Donohue writes really clearly and vividly and makes it easy to picture the scenes where the story takes place. Lewis was another well rounded character. I felt very sorry for him and how he was often mocked or taken advantage of. Natasha seemed to be the only young person with any empathy. There is a sense of foreboding throughout which begins early on and gradually builds making this a tense read at times
