The beauty of impossible things is a wonderful gothic story that was impossible to put down. Rachel Donohue has written a haunting tale based around fifteen year old Natasha Rothwell who lives in a large rundown house facing the sea in a small village popular with holidaymakers during the summer season. Natasha has premonitions and sees the fathers of two friends die before it happens. After this she stays silent about her gift until she turns fifteen and the blue lights appear in the sky over the ridge and a local teenager disappears. This so well written and the characters are so believable. This is a wonderful book about differences and struggling with being a teenager when you don't fit in with the in crowd or feel the need to conform. I would recommend this book to adults and teenagers it is a book that will stay with me for a long time. The book cover is absolutely wonderful.
