I was drawn to this book because I love a story that gives insight into real world happenings, and the first pages of ‘The Bee Keeper of Aleppo’ do not dissapoint. Immediately I have empathy for all the main characters and I’m invested in their stories. I loved The Kite Runner, and The History of Bees was in my top 5 last year; this feels like a perfect combination of the two!
