Enter pre-war Aleppo
The imagery the author conjures up in the opening pages of the book is brilliant, with only a few choice words I felt transported first to the B&B on a Mediterranean island and then into the marvel that may have been pre-war Aleppo.
I must admit i got sidetracked very early on to do some research on Bee's as I had no idea about the whole queen bee magic stuff.
This seems like a sweet tale of normal lives shattered by the coming civil war, and I think it seems well written just from these first few pages, but it isn't the sort of novel I would tend to enjoy reading myself but I'm sure if the imagery continues and as the story darkens plenty of people will like this.
