Raw and emotive but writing style rather too clinical and sparing.

A potentially raw and highly emotive story but the writing style was rather offputting as I found the sparing prose a little too clinical to really draw me into the story. An important story which deserves to be told but the writing felt too detached to make me want to follow the entire journey. Not for me, I suspect.
