The bees make it worthwhile

What I liked the most about this book is that it has been written with someone who has some first-hand/second-hand knowledge of being the child of refugees herself. There are a lot of people writing books on the topic at the moment who have no experience of it and have done very little research. I also got the impression that she has done some research - there was already more than just Syrians in the story. The author seemed to know quite a lot about bees and also of Syria (whether from visiting, friends/family or just research). This in itself made the book appeal to me far more than many others on this topic. It felt more real, developing a life for the main characters.

The cover was also nice. Although I'm not sure why he looks like he is catching a bee in his hands.
