Beautiful tale of love, loss and hope.
Interesting story line with compelling characters. Really enjoyed the authors flick between the present day, back in Aleppo and their journey to freedom and safety. Felt I really empathised with the main characters and found myself wanting to meet them in real life (if they had exsisted) and didn’t want to put this book down. This book really made you think about how as first world nation we look at refugees and how we can be more empathetic towards them. The authors own experiences of dealing with refugees in Athens really comes through in the story and adds a layer of context that was needed. I look forward to reading more of the authors work in the future.
