I have really mixed feelings about this book. I found it to be very slow paced and sometimes it felt like it took too long to reveal things that had been touched upon but not explained.
I did enjoy the switch up between past and present to add some layers in to the story and the “twist” at the end, as I did not really anticipate it coming. However, overall I was a little underwhelmed by it.
I definitely enjoyed the second half of the book a lot more than the first half because it felt like more happened to bulk it out but mostly it was just very repetitive. Each evening seemed to go exactly the same way in regards to interactions between characters and the actions of the main character.
The story is an interesting one and definitely an important story to read, I just was not a huge fan of the execution. I realise I am probably in the minority on that though
