I was really excited to read this book, both because of its eye catching cover, because of its themes, and because of its loose comparison to The Tattooist of Auschwitz. I felt that The Beekeeper of Aleppo explored the interesting story of Nuri and Afra, and there were many unexpected twists and turns along the way to keep you hooked. My interest dipped half way through the book, but I kept with it and I’m glad I did for the last few paragraphs and the ending.

I enjoyed the way that each chapter was split and cleverly paired through a key word - I hadn’t seen this style before and I think it would work for other stories.

The book was also really nice to hold in your hand due to its unusual size.

I’d really like to see this book made into a film!
