An incredible story that needs to be told, the real lives of the people caught up in the horrors of today’s world.

As soon as I saw this book I hoped I would be drawn into it, as I have been with similar stories, and from the first few pages I was not disappointed. And I know, this is a story that will stay on mind for many years to come.

The writing is beautiful, with the plot gracefully weaves between the present day and heart-breaking flashbacks of a life left behind. The characters have so much depth and reality and at a time when refugees are forever more in need of our support, it is vital to stop and think about their story. It is impossible to truly imagine the world that these stories are based on, how difficult every day must be and how much strength the people must have but the culture is clearly understood and appreciated by the author giving the book life and making it a world accessible to all.

A must read for fans of “The Tattooist of Auschwitz” and “The Kite Runner”.
