I thought this book was really great. The characters were so authentic and believable that I was engaged with them and invested in them after the first few pages of the story. It definitely made me feel deeply and understand the challenges and emotions that those fleeing their home may go through; something which more of us should be aware of with everything happening in the world at the minute. This book was emotional and heartbreaking, but it was also a heartwarming read too; showing the power that people can have on shaping someone else's experience when they are having the worst time of their life. The Beekeeper of Aleppo is absolutely worth a read if you want a book with loveable characters overcoming some of life's greatest challenges. It will make you smile and cry, maybe even all at the same time; what more could you want from a book?
