I have seen this book around for many many months and, although it's not the kind of genre I would go to, I thought I would give it a try!

I buddy read this book with the lovely @mitzireads and I loved the experience!

I didn't really know what I was going to find and the story broke my heart from the first chapter.

The "adventure" Nuri (Main character and narrator) and Afra (His wife) go through is so painfully real and hard that made this book amazing and very difficult to read at the same time.

I am sure this is the second book that I read about refugees (I have read The Sea Prayer previously) and the unfairness of the situation, how the refugees are mistreated, how hard is for them to start all over again away from their home, how much they have to go through... It upsets me. Very, very much.

I know this is fiction but I am sure the author, Christy Lefteri, has based the story in a real one and it makes me sad.

There were some sad moments, some very sad moments, moments of joy and happiness, anguish and terror but also moments of celebration.

If you haven't yet, please read this book. You won't regret it.
