This book is powerful. The story is set in modern time, our century, and tells the story about the beekeeper Nuri and the artist Afra. When their home in Aleppo is destroyed by war, they have to escape not only Aleppo but also their memories as refugees. The book describes the escape in a very good way, and we get to learn how many refugees live and travels. The story is moving while we follow along Nuri and Afra while they deal with their loss in Aleppo. However, Nuri knows that in Britain there are people waiting for them. This may have become their biggest hope and may have been the power that kept them going.
