I really enjoyed reading this. First of all, the cover was lovely and it would definitely encourage me to pick up the book and take a further look. The story was eye-opening and thought provoking. It humanises the news stories that appeared on our TV screens just a few years ago.
The story tells the story of Nuri and Afta and their forced escape from Syria, across Europe eventually reaching England. Alternating between England and their journey makes the story flow and easy to read. WIth some heart-breaking events along the way you really get a feel for the despair and desperation faced.
The fact that the book is written by someone with real experience of working with refugees adds to the credibility of the book. It will certainly stay with me for a long time.
