I read this book last year with my book club and it is one of my top reads for that year.
The story takes us on a very long and emotional journey with our two main characters who are in search of safety and freedom. Fleeing their country for safer lands. This is a topic I haven’t read about before and I found it very interesting and thought provoking.
I connected with the main characters / couple instantly and felt their pain. However, the other characters that appear on the story are also easy to connect to and support the story well.
Parts of the story are hard to read and difficult to comprehend, easily when you make links to the current climate we live in and how these events actually happen.
Overall a very good read. This is a book I would recommend to all keen readers. It is a book that is hard to forget once you have read it and that you will reflect on for some time.
