The Beekeeper of Aleppo 3/5 from me.

The book is beautifully written, the language used is enchanting and paints such a vivid, vast image of landscape. Which I love.

The book switches between two times, the time of seeking asylum for Nuri a Beekeeper and his wife along with the journey of asylum starting in Syria, a country ripped apart. Nuri and his wife enjoy such an idyllic simple life filled with such happiness and love before it gets torn apart in every way possible.

This will be a fantastic book club selection for many a discussion. It's a subject matter I have very little knowledge on and I was touched by this novel. There is a compassion to this book that will stay with you long after you have turned the very last page. How grateful I am for the life I am able to live.
