I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH.
This is not my usual type of book but after seeing it everywhere on social media I decided to give it a go (I was gifted it from instagram)
I loved it from the very beginning - the story of Nuri and Afra had me hooked and I did not realise until very far into the book that the young boy Nuri was talking to was not really there.
But when you look back it is quite obvious that something is a miss. I loved the strength shown by both main characters in different parts of the journey from Syria and the telling of the journey and the things that they had to do to survive was very real and very jarring.
I will never think of asylum seekers in the same way ever again after reading this story.
