The Blessed Child is a great read. Nessie is trying to be both mother and father to Reuben, Marie and baby Joseph. She is a brilliantly written character who immediately engages the reader and you want her to be happy. This story shows that even in the worst of circumstances hard work, honesty & loyalty is eventually rewarded. Nessie has such a good heart and wants to help everyone she meets especially those worse off than herself.
The plot moves quickly along and the story is well written. I would like to see a follow up story showing what happened to Marcie and Reuben and Molly who were all central to this story. I will definitely be reading more from Rosie Goodwin after reading this book.
