I recieved my copy today, and dipped in right away, of course at the time of writing this, I haven't finished the book, but it's fair to say it has me hooked, I don't want to disclose any of the plot, because I think it's unfair to people who are yet to read The Blessed Child.

But I will say, I can honestly understand now, why my mum loved this genre of book. It is very nostalgic, but not in the 'life was a bed of roses' way, it's raw! You really feel for Nessie, she's had a hard life to begin with, and then her entire world as she knew it is ripped from her in a heartbeat.

You want to step in and say to her 'everything is OK'

Even though the book and characters are set in the 1800's, it's still relevant, life can change for you in an instant, and everything you knew, and trusted, gone in the blink of an eye.
