I loved this book. From page one you fall in love with the main character. Nessie looks after her siblings and her father after their mother dies , she is determined to keep them together as a family and yes , you've guessed it , the world is a cruel place. Hardships are around every corner as their father abandons them and they are thrown out of the only home they know. You just want to will them on to better things. The author has done a fantastic job of making you be the character as you read the chapters one by one....brilliant. This is one book I didn't want to put down and as I read into the wee small hours I knew I wanted to finish the book as soon as possible to find out if Nessie got her happy ever after
