This book feels like a perfect example of a character-driven period novel. The writing is beautiful and the characters instantly feel believable and hold a lot of promise for the story ahead. The intimate relationships developed against the political backdrop of the Cold War makes for an intriguing premise and that gorgeous cover just captures the essence of the story.
