When I say this is the first book I genuinely want to win, I mean it with my all. At first, it seemed like an unnecessarily wordy book, but I was quickly invested when Anneka appeared out of nowhere, and the conversation that followed kept my eyes on the screen. Then the time skip back to 1959, where we saw Drum and the sentences were written like a poem. I enjoyed reading it aloud immensely. Carter and Drum's interaction was also very amusing to read, and the anticipation for what happened to Carter was exciting. I also loved to see Gwen's point of view, and knowing at the very end she will be with Drum has this on the top of my reading list.
