I'm drawn to the cover as it's so different to many of the books that are currently published - it doesn't have bright, bold colours so I know it's going to be a serious read, and the font used adds to this impression. I am familiar with Stuart Evers' other work so I know that the writing is going to be of a really high standard and reading the extract confirms this. I'd expect this novel to be very well written and have a really interesting story, and the extract makes me want to read it. I want to know what Nate and Anneka plan to do and how their relationship is with the Carters. I like a novel that has a slow reveal, moving backwards and forwards in time, so The Blind Light ticks all of these boxes!
