I loved the description of the book following generations through the years following the second world war. However, I found the first few chapters a little confusing as the story seemed to jump about a bit and certain characters went by more than one name from paragraph to paragraph. I would hope the story would settle down once the scene was set and I would be able to more easily understand and follow the various family groups and characters.
