This novel is an amazingly structured piece of writing portraying British troubles in a post-nucleic generation, and the pressures which have torn people apart and brought them together. Stuart Evans has now become a writer I will look out for in the future, with The Blind Light being a phenomenal piece of writing.

We follow the lives of fascinating characters, along with their friendship and families (Drummond 'Drum' Moore and Carter) with flaws; keeping us grounded and giving us characters to relate to and not look up to. It is quite a long piece of writing, however keeps us interested with amazing pacing and a deeper look into England's social divides during a post-nucleic time period. It includes time periods such as the cuban missile crisis, the cold war, the Dagenham strikes and the IRA bombing campaigns. Brilliant for anyone interested in history.

I can't recommend this book enough!
