I enjoyed how the sneak preview began with a flashback into their childhood, the Carter's garden turns out to be a source of great interest to Anneka and Nate. Although it's sad that their long awaited reunion is quick and quiet nothing like what Nate hoped it would be. Annika hasn't changed a bit except slight aging around her eyes and the skin taught around her cheeks. Whereas Nate has completely changed causing Anneka to admit she barely recognise him and would have walked straight past without recognising him in the street. It is quite awkward between them however they easily work together to prepare dinner. I find it sweet that they easily fell back into their sibling rhythm working side by side as if they did it every Friday night. We meet Drum in the second chapter having an experiencing amazing freedom. The book switches between the Carter residence and Drum a working class man in London a lot.
