A very in depth book and not one I would usually read. I did read it and also my son who thought it was well written and very evocative. It follows a powerful story of the early war years taking it through the years and certain outcomes. The characters are strong and very powerful the intensity of the story follows through this book willing you to know more. As the years go on and you see how things change you feel yourself going back and forth and remembering characters and how they evolve and the how they mature over time. It’s a very strong book and a one that you can read and have deep feelings about. Political and sobering and well written a book I feel everyone should read and probably all have different views as you finish the last chapter. My son and I were both glad we had read it and both had different but constructive views as we finished this lovely book.
