I really enjoyed this book after waiting a long time for it to arrive! It is a huge novel - 533 pages!- and it took some time to read with other commitments. Don;t let that put you off as its a great read. I loved the two very different families, moors and Carters , who are drawn together through their fathers friendship. The book really makes you think about what can affect individuals. I found this book very enjoyable from the beginning to the end, it’s very well written and I would definitely recommend it. The writing is very descriptive it keeps you entranced and the storyline doesn’t get boring. I loved the friendship between Carter and Drummond and the way the story switches location between the farm and the town and their different lives. Carter is highly educated and privileged and Drummond is working class. Definitely recommend this one.
