Frustrating
Thrillers are one of my favourite genres because of the suspense, plot twists and mystery. Some thrillers grab your interest immediately, whereas other take a while to engage the reader.
Unfortunately, I didn't think this novel did either. I wanted to immerse myself in the narrative because it was full of heart and culture but I found myself unable to do so. The writing style failed to grab my interest and I found my self indifferent as to whether or not I discovered who the murderer was. The main character was well developed and it was interesting to explore the conflict of their morality throughout the journey.
I may give this novel another shot in the future but I doubt it will be any time soon.
