The first thing that caught my attention was the brightness of the cover. I love books that stand out brightly from the rest on a shelf and being yellow certainly does that.
Like the title says, it's a fresh start, a new beginning for Jo and for those she meets in the little shop. It's a chance to start afresh and make something of herself and to know that there is more out there. Everyone has something that they are hiding from, but it takes that special somebody to be able to come out from hiding and step in to the light again.

The Book of Beginnings seems that type of book that will draw you not only in to its pages, but in to the world that it creates as you read. You will feel like you are there among the characters, tucked away in the stationary shop watching others like Jo.
