My first novel by Sally Page and it was an instant five stars - this is just the type of heartwarming story I live for, which will make you want to laugh and cry!
This gorgeous novel is all about friendships and new beginnings, and has some of the most wonderful characters who will stay with you long after the final page. I loved so much about this book - from the stationery shop and reminders of writing proper letters, to the “ghosts” which are explored by our main characters, and finding out these fascinating things about some well known figures from history. But mostly it really was all about our group of characters and the friendship they strike up, and the kindness and wisdom they all share - I especially have a sweet spot for Ruth the vicar, who was just an absolute gem. Oh, and there’s a bit of romance too to make it even better! I really loved it!
