As someone who loves September and the new beginnings of a new season , new stationery for school and cozy nights drawing in I was looking forward to this book.

We meet Jo Sorsby who has happy memories of playing and being in her Uncle’s stationery shop growing up. She has taken over the shop at the turn of autumn and opens it up to customers whose enjoyment of the shop and surroundings inspires her .

She meets new neighbours and friends on the way, becoming close to a vicar with a secret and Malcolm who is lost in himself.

As the story continues , with the beautiful imagery of autumn and the turn of leaves blowing into the stationery shop the characters and storylines develop with the pleasant backdrop of the shop.

This is a nice read for the autumn with lovable characters and a good book to escape with, an innocence throughout which is charming.
