Right from the beginning I knew I would enjoy this book, it is aptly titled ‘the book of beginnings’ and the protagonist Jo, reflects on the feeling of new things and beginnings. Jo has taken charge of her uncle’s stationery shop in London and we find out about where she is in her life as she reminisces of what has happened in her past. Her friendship with Lucy, her family and a previous partner have all had their place on who she is and where she is now in her life. Sally Page brings into the mix characters who come to life with the incidents that involve them.
On a very simplistic level, I love a yellow book cover and a feel good read, that is rich in character development and incidents. This had me smiling at times and pensive at others and it will now sit happily on my bookcase as a book I would read again so I can relive the lives of those within again.
