Full of reverie reverting to new beginnings

So many colourful and endearing characters that emerge from an introduction of suppressed anger, disappointment and despair. Jo is tending to her uncles stationary shop as he is unwell and she is contemplating her life choices after a painful breakup with James. Jo starts to become in twined in the lives of her customers and friendships begin to form between two in particular. An unusual pairing emerges and throughout the story you can feel your spirits being lifted, full of feel good antics and now reticence starts to give way to intimacy. Despite hurt and humiliation, humanity and empathy comes to guide Jo, Malcom and Ruth to a healthier and happier existence. Together they explore fundamental truths, comfort each other and intimacy and Atonement manages to set off these new beginnings into happy ever afters. Am extremely keen to read Malcom’s book of Christmas ghosts, actually sounds a great idea for another book.
